Solomon Snow and his friends, Prudence and the Infant Prodigy, return in a second comic mock-Victorian extravaganza. This time, Prudence's dad is in prison, awaiting transportation to a rotting convict ship. Our heroes set out to rescue him and get caught up in the mad plans of the villainous Dr Calamari to steal a fabulous ruby (cursed, of course) in this wildly funny and rumbustious romp, involving dwarfs, thugs, donkeys, the circus - and a starring role for Mr Skippy, the rabbit.
