Each poem covers a different topic such as daily wartime living, life in the trenches and attitudes towards patriotism and religion. The backgrounds to each poem and poet is given, together with an explanation of what each poem is about. It also includes poems by Wilfred Owen, Rupert Brooke and WB Yeats.
